Michele’s New Young Adult Novel, Keep Sweet due March 2010 from Simon and Schuster!
The harrowing and hard hitting story of young Alva Jane Merrill, a young girl living in a remote, fundamentalist Mormon community who learns the high price to pay for disobedience. A coming of age thriller, Keep Sweet, follows Alva’s journey as she comes to terms with her faith, her family and her future. Will she escape her closely guarded community and a forced, polygamous marriage? Will she ever find her childhood sweetheart, Joseph John? Can she survive in alien, outside world?

Michele began writing as a child, penning her first award winning short story, A Madrigal of Honey for Ham, at the age of nine. By high school she was writing dramatic performance pieces and in college she was a member of FOCAL (Friends of Children and Literature), a literacy advocacy group based out of the Los Angeles Central
Library.

While working steadily as an actress, Michele was always writing, working primarily on screenplays, essays and short stories.

After having a string of projects optioned, Michele got the idea for her first novel, a young adult book series featuring the L.A. based, teen sleuth, Martika Gálvez, a kind of hip, updated and urban Nancy Drew. Chasing The Jaguar was bought by Harper Collins and released in hardcover in June 2006. It was nominated for an American Library Association Award for Best Books for Teens and is included on the prestigious New York Public Library List of Recommended Reading for Teens.
